Chapter Leader Newsletter - April 2019

Chapter Leader Newsletter - April 2019

Spring is here!!

In our limited research, we've found most of our members approach spring in one of two ways; either with joy and exuberance for the change in weather or general disdain for allergens and rain.

If you identify with the former group, we're going to keep the good times rolling with some exciting updates! If you identify with the latter group, on the bright side we have some exciting updates!

Chapter Leader Updates

  • National Conference date & location are set
  • Chapter Congress meeting dates are live & posted on the leader page

Affiliation Agreement Updates

  • This year we are revising our first ever affiliation agreement, which expired at the end of 2018. If you haven’t already signed your chapter's affiliation agreement extension, please reach out to Jeff at
  • We are forming a Think Tank now to begin discussing affiliation agreement revisions, including looking at the network's decision-making structures and increasing the Network Investment. If you're interested in being part of that work, please reach out to Kevin at
    • The Think Tank will work on revising the agreement from April to August, with updates presented on our Chapter Congress calls and at the National Conference in August.
  • Chapters will receive the final version of the affiliation agreement by September 15 and will have until December 1, 2019 to sign and return their agreements.

Strategic Plan to be Released this Month!

  • We'll be sharing YNPN National's new strategic plan with you this month. Keep an eye out for another email from us soon! (We wanted to send it in this newsletter but we're still working with the designer!)
  • In the meantime, here's a sneak peak at the Key Strategic Results:
    • Emerging leaders are empowered and equipped with the skills and competencies to realize YNPN’s vision of stronger communities supported and strengthened by a diverse and powerful social sector
    • Staff and leadership in the nonprofit sector represent the diversity of our communities
    • Careers in the nonprofit sector are individually, organizationally, and economically sustainable

Thanks, We Enjoyed Hearing From You!!

  • We recently partnered with Dr. Jodi Benenson, Assistant Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Nebraska Omaha to conduct a member and stakeholder survey
    • The Survey wrapped up in December 2018
    • Over 1,400 people responded!
    • This has helped us quantitatively support what we've known anecdotally and the team is now developing a summary report of the findings which will be ready to share in June
